Each vehicle (aka “asset” - you can change the label in setting) has a “status” field to indicate whether or not it’s available for reservations. You can take a vehicle out of service for any reason - a long term repair, sale, physical damange etc. When a vehicle is take out of service all of it’s details remain in Farebox and you can switch that vehicle to be available again at a later time.
Out of service vehicles remain in Farebox and do not count against your monthly billable vehicle count.
Both users and vehicles have a similar interface for noting time off. Time off can be specified as either one time or recurring (aka, always unavailable on Tuesdays 8am - 10am). Then a time off has been specified then the person or vehicle in question will show up as unavailable in the assignments interface.
When adding an assignment to a reservation you will receive several types of warnings and error messages if they are unavailable. This could be due to an existing reservation or just due to previously noted downtime.
You’ll get a visual warning about unavailability in the staff and vehicle dropdown:
If you choose the unavailable person a warning message will also pop up at the top of the page
